Wedding , Events, Flowers .. OH MY !!
28 September 2017
How has a month passed already since our last news article - don't ask me - I have had the pleasure of being surrounded by flowers each and every week for weddings , funeral, events, customer orders since then.
Last week saw our team have one of the busiest weeks known up to date. With two huge and special events scheduled on the working calender , as well as two our our lovely brides getting married at the weekend - the pressure was on.
Tuesday 19th September saw us at The Grand Hotel in York city centre supplying beautiful arrangements for a rather prestigious watch company !! Yes we know - ain't we fancy! With only the best needing and a strict guidline on colour and flower choice the task in hand was given to our head florist Kelly to manage the order, create the designs and delivery them with her ever faithful colleague Nikki. Sumptious green and juicy yellow was the name of the game with flowers such as calla lily, gladioli, hydrangea, craspedia, rose and bloom , accompanied by monstera leaf, aspdistra leaf, beargrass and fatsia leaf were used to create large , modern and stylish designs to cover the grand boardroom at the hotel. Three large vase arrangements adorned the fireplace and two tables in the room with smaller more stylish cube vases sitting on the bar tables in the centre of the room. However the two 100cm tall clear vase arrangement really were the piece de resistance ( remember we are Yorkshire - Not french!! excuse the spelling and grammar on that one). The stood at the entrance way to the event and really were breath taking even if I do say so myself.
Saturday 23rd September saw us The York Racecourse to set up for the York Cancer Feather and Pearls event organised by the fabulous Hudson Moody. This time it was 27 tall table arrangements adorned in feathers of white and pearls to match to create a roaring 20's , stylish, great gasby style theme to this wonderful evening. Our lovely Sarah and Tristan were sent on the case of setting up at the venue and boy did they do well - All i can say is you don't need a trip to the gym when you set up at the Racecourse . We decided to use hydrageas and orchids as the main flower to really give that elegant feel that the roaring 20's were all about. All we can say is just STUNNING. Sarah even got to attend the event herself and had a rather lovely night , what a privelage it was to be a part of this special night.
Running along side this was also the two weddings we had in the diary- both very different from each other- with Jill and Martin choosing pink and soft lilac and Marsha and David going for all roses with soft white gyp to create a romantic , tradtional look to their special day at The Merchant Taylors Hall in York. With bridal drop off, church delivery and venue set up Kelly and Dave were busy little bee's travelling all around the city centre. Did you manage to catch a glimpse of them?
So as you can see we were busy and being kept out of trouble !! Now we can breathe a little but we have heard murmours of xmas around the corner ! someone send help !!
